TEMPE, Ariz. – After the highest team score of the season, No. 21 Arizona State gymnastics is heading to State College, Pennsylvania to participate in a quad meet with Cornell, Penn State and Yale on Saturday at 4 p.m. EST.
 
The Gym Devils (6-7) scored a 49.000 or better in each event against Oregon State. The team score is the best ASU has reached since a 196.725 against Arizona last season. In the latest Road to Nationals rankings, Arizona State is in the top 25 in three events: No. 16 on bars, No. 20 on beam and No. 21 on vault.
 
Cairo Leonard-Baker is coming off of her season-high 39.550 in the all-around in the meet against the Beavers. In the rankings, she is tied for No. 10 on bars and is No. 18 in the all-around.
 
Opponents Outlook
Cornell (7-11)
  • The Big Red had their best meet of the season at a tri-meet at home when they scored a 194.000 to take first place.
  • Cornell is currently averaging a 192.400. Their best event is floor where they are No. 53 in the country.\
Penn State (5-7)
  • The Nittany Lions are hosting the quad meet, the same site where the Sun Devils participated in NCAA regionals last season.
  • They are averaging a 195.360, just shy of the top 25 at No. 27. They are in the top 25 on bars, currently ranked No. 14 in the nation.
Yale (11-4)
  • Yale is averaging a 193.900 with their best event being on beam. The team is No. 44 in that event.
  • The Bulldogs' best score was a 195.100 they earned last week in a quad meet where they took first.
