TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State beach volleyball is back this Friday with the Maroon and Gold scrimmage at the Pera Club at 6 p.m. MST, showcasing the Sand Devils for the first time to the public in 2019. 
 
The scrimmage will feature two matches with the pairings mixed up in the second match. The players who will be on the Maroon team and the Gold team are as follows:

For the first round, the Maroon team with pair up Bailey Anderson and Salazar on one court and Unzue and Schilling on the other. They will take on the two Gold pairings of Ellett and Johnson along with Keever and Cady, respectively. 

In the second round, the Maroon team will have Flood and Wenz take on Gold's Carballo and Okaro. The second court will see Baldwin and Plaster from Maroon play Lundberg and Cross from Gold. Finally, Emily Anderson and Weintraub will compete against Braun and Woodard.

In 2018, the Sun Devils compiled an 11-20 record. The season was highlighted by a five-match win streak that included a win over Pac-12 foe Washington, the first in program history over the Huskies.
 
The team returns 12 players from last year's roster, the majority bringing back significant playing time. In addition to the five incoming freshmen, they will add one grad transfer in Wenz who has experience playing indoor volleyball at Ohio State.
 
Each class in the roster is almost evenly represented. Underclassmen make up the majority of the roster with the six freshmen and five sophomores. For upperclassmen, there are four juniors and five seniors.
