BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Arizona State gymnastics is ranked No. 21 in the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) preseason poll, with all Pac-12 teams but one being ranked in the top 25.

The Sun Devils have maintained their national presence they have established in the past few years, earning a top-25 preseason ranking in the last two seasons. All of the Pac-12 teams are ranked in the top 25 except for Arizona, with Arizona State ahead of Stanford at No. 22.

Of the teams ranked in the top 25, the Sun Devils will face 11 of them in 2020. At home, ASU will host No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 4 UCLA, No. 9 Cal and No. 17 Washington. The season will kick off on January 4 at the Collegiate Challenge, where Arizona State will face off against No. 7 Denver, No. 13 Auburn and No. 25 Penn State.

Jay and Jessica Santos led the Gym Devils to a successful season in 2019, the first since 2014 to have a winning record (11-10) in the regular season. The team was ranked in the top-25 on Road to Nationals all year, finishing at No. 25, and earned four wins over top-25 teams throughout the season.

The Gym Devils return seven gymnasts who have played key roles for ASU in past seasons. The team is led by junior Leonard-Baker, who has earned All-America honors in each of her two seasons in Tempe. Arizona State has seven new faces on the team: six freshmen and a transfer sophomore. The Sun Devils will rely on some key underclassmen to show up big for the team in 2020.
