TEMPE – The Sun Devil women's tennis team closes its fall season this weekend as it plays host to 10 teams from across the nation for the 25th Thunderbird Invitational at Whiteman Tennis Center, Nov. 8-10.

With 11 teams participating in the tournament, the courts at Whiteman will be active all day with action starting at 8:30 a.m. and running until after 3 p.m., Friday and Saturday. Sunday's schedule remains flexible, but information on the first two days of the event can be found here.

Coach Sheila McInerney's Sun Devils won't get going until Friday afternoon. ASU opens the tournament with doubles matches against women from Mississippi State and Texas Tech before rolling into singles matches against the same opponents after doubles have finished.

While the Devils will be one of the final teams to leave the court Friday, they will be one of the first to return to play Saturday morning.

Starting at 8:30 a.m., ASU will join Kansas, Notre Dame and Texas Tech for singles, then take a short break before taking on women from Kansas State in doubles at 11 a.m.

Results for all of the programs participating in the event will be posted on the tournament page.

Parking for the event will be available in lot 59 on Friday and Sunday, but fans coming on Saturday will have to park in the Packard garage and let the attendant know they are there for tennis to be allowed into the structure.

Entry to the event is free.
