KAILUA KONA, HI – The No. 2 Sun Devil Women's Golf team enjoyed a successful second round at the 2019 Pac-12 Preview, hosted at Nanea Golf Club on the Island of Hawaii.
Arizona State (-6/286) tied with No. 22 UCLA for the lowest round of the day, improving their total by nine strokes from yesterday. The Maroon & Gold moved up two spots in the team standings, now sitting in fourth place heading into the final round. Four different Sun Devils occupy a spot in the Top-15 of the individual standings, highlighted by Raquel Olmos who moved into a tie for ninth place after a strong round.
TEAM RESULTS
Coach Farr-Kaye's team came out ready to compete, as they would go on to match No. 22 UCLA for the lowest round (286) of the day. The Sun Devils continue convert on par opportunities, leading the tournament in the category with 116. Arizona State also has the fourth-most birdies, recording 35 on the tournament, including 20 in the second round. They are only one of two teams to be under-par on par-four holes, joined by the tournament leader No. 22 UCLA. The score of 286 is the lowest round by Arizona State at the Pac-12 Preview since they posted a 284 (-5) on the final day of the 2016 edition, taking home the tournament championship in the process.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Three Sun Devils carded rounds under par, as a focused group bounced back with an excellent round. Arizona State is one of only two teams to have four players in the Top-15 after two days, joined by No. 8 Arizona. Raquel Olmos moved 15 spots up the leaderboard thanks to her 70 (-3), as she is now in a tie for ninth. Alexandra Forsterling matched Olmos in recording a team-low 70 (-3), as she skyrocketed up 20 spots into a tie for 11th. Alessandra Fanali moved to even on the tournament after carding a 72 (-1), moving into the Top-15. Linn Grant (+1/74) joins her in the Top-15, with the depth of the Sun Devil lineup on full display. Arizona State has 18 more holes to make up more ground.

"I am really proud of how we fought to the finish today," Coach Missy Farr-Kaye stated. "Moving up two spots on the leaderboard is exactly what we wanted to do today. I believe we are still in this tournament with a great round tomorrow!"

The Sun Devils will enter the final day with plenty of confidence, as the field will once again undergo a 10:30 A.M. MST shotgun start. Arizona State included in a group with No. 5 USC, No. 8 Arizona, and No. 22 UCLA as part of the top-four, trailing third-place USC by only a stroke.
