SAN FRANCISCO – Senior libero Courtney Leffel was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for her strong performances in Arizona State volleyball's wins at Oregon State and Oregon over the weekend, her second time winning the weekly honor this season.

For Arizona State (15-12, 7-9 Pac-12) this award ties the most Pac-12 weekly awards earned in a single season. In 2012 and 1988, ASU also had three nods. Leffel is the first Sun Devil to earn Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week twice in one season, the second Sun Devil after Macey Gardner to earn a weekly award twice in one season.

After the Oregon match, Leffel moved into sixth place in career digs at ASU with 1,450 digs, passing Sarah Johnson. She is currently on a streak of three-straight matches with 20-plus digs after earning 23 and 27 in the two wins. She has also had six matches in a row with double-digit digs.

Leffel and the Sun Devils swept the season series against both Oregon and Oregon State for the first time since 2002. Additionally, it's the second road sweep of both Oregon schools in a row after winning both in 2018 as well.
