TEMPE, Ariz. - Returning to action after a bye weekend, Sun Devil Hockey hosts its second home series of the season against No. 9 Quinnipiac at Oceanside Ice Arena. Limited tickets remain for Saturday night's contest.

It will be the seventh and eighth meeting in five years between the Sun Devils (3-3-0) and Bobcats (4-1-0), tieing for the most against any program since joining the Division I ranks. Their most recent meeting came in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, as Quinnipiac ended ASU's historic season with a 2-1 victory that went down to the wire.

"I'd be lying if I told you it wasn't on our mind," said head coach Greg Powers of their recent meeting. "It's a program that we have a tremendous amount of respect for. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Rand and what he's done and what he's built there. But to take that a step further, his willingness to play us essentially every year. Last year was the only regular season that we have not played them, so his willingness to accept us into Division I hockey and to play us and come to us now this second time, it means a lot."

Sun Devil Rewind

Two weekends ago, the Sun Devils bounced back from a sweep at then-No. 3 Minnesota State to take two road victories at Air Force. On Friday, ASU netted three unanswered goals against the Falcons to collect sophomore goaltender Evan DeBrouwer's first collegiate shutout and first collegiate victory. Senior Tyler Busch played in his 100th collegiate game and notched his 24th career goal and third-career game-winner.

On Sunday, the Sun Devils continued in dominating fashion. Five different ASU players found the back of the net, including two on the power play. Johnny Walker tallied a career-high three assists in ASU's 5-2 win. DeBrouwer's career-high 38 saves combined with the Sun Devils' control on both sides of the ice, earned ASU its first series sweep of the season.

Familiar Foes

This weekend's tilt holds no mysteries for the Sun Devils who have dropped the puck with Quinnipiac six times, second-most in the program's history behind Omaha with eight games.

This will be the first time that the two reunite following a first-round NCAA Regional showdown that ended ASU's 2018-2019 season. The loss to Quinnipiac in Allentown pushed the Sun Devils record against the Bobcats to 1-4-1.

The trip to Tempe will be the first away series for Quinnipiac (4-1-0) this season. Of the six games against Quinnipiac, the Bobcats have only skated at Oceanside for one series in 2017-18.

Quinnipiac's point leader, junior forward Odeen Tufto, boasts seven assists with no goals of his own. Sophomore forward Wyatt Bongiovanni leads the team in goals scored with four, including one game-winning goal. Through five games, the Bobcats delivered an average of 32.40 shots on goal per game.

Quinnipiac counterpart between the pipes, junior Keith Petruzzelli, a Detroit draft pick, owns a .909 save percentage and 2.23 goals against average in five starts.

Puck drop against No. 9 Quinnipiac is at 7:05 p.m. MST on both Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2.
