TEMPE, Ariz. – Kicking off two-straight weeks on the road, Arizona State volleyball is heading to the Bay Area to take on No. 16 Cal and No. 2 Stanford on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
 
ASU split its matches last weekend, moving to 10-5 on the season, 2-2 in conference play. Arizona State beat Colorado in four and lost in three to No. 20 Utah. With two top-25 teams coming up this weekend, the Sun Devils are looking for their first win over a ranked opponent this season. They are 0-2 so far this year.

UPDATE: Friday's match against Cal has been moved to Maples Pavilion in Stanford, California due to power outages in Berkeley. 
 
Opponent Outlook
No. 16 Cal (13-1, 3-1 Pac-12) | Oct. 11, 5 p.m. MST | Pac-12 Network
  • The Bears started 2019 with a bang, going undefeated until playing Stanford in the first weekend of Pac-12 play.
  • ASU has won three of the last four meetings against Cal. Last season, the Sun Devils won in five in Berkeley for Sanja Tomasevic's first Pac-12 win of her career.
No. 2 Stanford (9-3, 3-1 Pac-12) | Oct. 13, 2 p.m. MST | Pac-12 Network
  • The reigning NCAA national champions, the Cardinal has lost three matches so far this season, all to top-15 teams. Two of those losses came at home, where Stanford previously had a 37-match home winning streak.
  • ASU has won the last six matches to Stanford, the last win coming in 2015 in Tempe. The Sun Devils have won five matches against the Cardinal all-time.
