SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Arizona State men's diver David Hoffer is the Pac-12 Diver of the Week, as announced by the conference office Wednesday morning.

Hoffer was recognized for his spectacular performances against conference foes No. 1 Cal and No. 7 Stanford. Against the Bears, Hoffer put up a 335.78 in the one-meter springboard to take second place, being outscored only by teammate Youssef Selim. The senior then took first in the three-meter springboard with a score of 366.60 to notch his second win on three meter this season.

The Colorado-native kicked things into over drive the next day against Stanford, first taking second in the one meter with a score of 351.45. Hoffer came back in the three-meter to put up a score of 405.23 to take first and become the first Sun Devil this season to eclipse the 400-point mark in the three-meter springboard this season. That mark is also a top-25 score in Division I Diving, sitting at No. 24 in Division I and the highest mark by a Pac-12 diver this season.

His score of 405.23 is over two points higher than the second-highest mark in conference, held by Connor Casey of Stanford, and over 20 points higher than third place.

While this is Hoffer's first "Diver of the Week" accolade, the senior has won three Pac-12 Diver of the Month awards in his career, as the conference awards the honor monthly during the fall and switches to weekly during the spring. Hoffer notched the award once during his junior year for the month of November and earned the honor in back-to-back months during his freshman year in December and January.

Aside from success in the diving well, Hoffer was Pac-12 Second Team All-Academic during his junior year and a part of the Tip of the Fork Cohort which recognizes exemplary student-athletes upon graduating last May.

Hoffer, one of the Sun Devils' most experienced divers, returns to action this season after choosing to redshirt last year. He graduated last May with a double degree with a B.S. in Economics and B.A. in Business with a certificate in Leadership and Ethics Certificate, and is currently pursuing his master's degree in Public Policy.

The Sun Devils have a bye week this week and are back in action for their final regular season meet against the Arizona Wildcats in Tuscon. The meet is set for a noon start on Sat., Feb. 9.
