TEMPE, Ariz. – Coming off of their highest team score this season, No. 19 Arizona State gymnastics is back home to host No. 4 Utah in Wells Fargo Arena in the Cystic Fibrosis awareness meet and alumni night.

The Gym Devils (3-2) surpassed 196.000 for the first time in 2019 in their last meet at UCLA, scoring a 196.125. In vault, bars and beam, Arizona State scored season best event totals. ASU is tied at No. 19 in the third week of Road to Nationals rankings, which were updated on Monday before the UCLA meet.

Cairo Leonard-Baker earned a 9.975 on bars, the highest score in program history since April Boone got the same score on beam in 2007. Justine Callis won the individual title on beam against the Bruins after scoring a 9.925. She was named the Pac-12 Specialist of the Week on Wednesday.

  • The Utes are ranked first in the nation in vault after the first three weeks of competition. They are also third in floor.
  • All-around competitor MyKayla Skinner is averaging above a 9.900 in vault, bars and floor so far this year. Her all-around average is 39.642 and is first in the nation with her vault average of 9.967. She has been named Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week twice this season.
  • Last year, ASU traveled to Salt Lake City for the dual meet with Utah. The Sun Devils took second with a 195.400.

The meet will help to raise awareness for Cystic Fibrosis with in-meet special events and 200 free t-shirts for the first fans through the doors. Additionally, it is also alumni night and the Gym Devils will bring back former gymnasts. Fans are encouraged to wear white.
