TEMPE, Ariz. – Looking to build off of yet another a highly successful 2018 campaign that included their third-straight National Championship, head coach Cliff English and Sun Devil women's triathlon will have three opportunities to qualify for the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championship to be held in Tempe for the third-straight year this November.

Kicking off the season at the Central Regional Qualifier and then racing two more times in the regular season, the women have three chances to meet the qualification criteria for the race of placing top-two as a team at one of the three regional qualifiers.

The Sun Devils have achieved that feat in their very first race in every season since their conception and have also have never placed lower than second as a team at any regional qualifier.

The Central Qualifier, set to take place on Sep. 1 in Pleasant Prairie, Wisc. was cancelled last season due to Hurricane Florence, but all seven Sun Devils competing swept the top seven spots to earn first place as a team at the event in 2017. Then-freshman Hannah Henry led the way en route to what would be her first of now two Collegiate Individual National Championships.

Next up on their agenda is the West Regional Qualifier, another event ASU has dominated in the past. The squad swept the podium at the event in Colorado in 2018 and took six of the top-seven spots for a dominant season-opener.

Last on the list before returning home to Tempe is the East Regional Qualifier, where the Sun Devils will make the 2,100-mile cross country trip to Huddleston, Va. for their final qualification race. The team has taken first place in the event in each of the last two seasons while taking second place in 2016.

Finally ASU returns home on Nov. 16 for the USAT Collegiate National Championship, looking for a four-peat in 2019.
