Tempe, Ariz.- The Sun Devil Softball team, fresh off an appearance in the 2019 Tuscaloosa Regional, will honor the accomplishments of the past season at its annual Golden Fork Awards Banquet on September 29.
ASU secured 35 wins on the yearr, marking the program's 24th- straight 30-win season, and 25th- straight winning season. Thirteen conference wins paced the Devils to a fourth-place finish in the Pac-12 and led to the team's 31st- NCAA postseason appearance.
The Golden Fork Awards award ceremony will highlight individual accolades that student-athletes earned through their hard work and dedication on and off the field, and will once again include the Bill Kajikawa Award, Mary Littlewood Award, Newcomer of the Year and Team MVP honors.
The Devils, one of the most potent offenses in the country last season, finishing with an incredible .319 team batting average, a mark that ranked No. 13 in the nation. Not just hitting at a consistent clip, the Sun Devils also showed a lot of power at the plate last year. During the 2019 season, ASU combined to launch 91 long balls, the fifth most home runs per game on the year, including an impressive eight grand slams.
