INDIANAPOLIS – Arizona State gymnastics graduate Anne Kuhm is one of two Sun Devil student-athletes to be nominated for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year award, as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday.

Along with Kuhm, Katie Gorcyca from triathlon was also nominated. A record 585 female college athletes have been nominated by NCAA member schools for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year award.

Kuhm has received numerous accolades in the 2019 season. While part of the ASU gymnastics leadership team, she was named to the 2019 All-Pac-12 All-Around Second Team for her performance in the gym. She also was named a 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-American in addition to being the 2019 Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year.

The recent graduate had another solid senior season for Arizona State. She helped the Gym Devils finish the year with a winning record (11-10) for the first time since 2014 and advance to NCAA regionals. Her best meet of the year was against Oregon State when she had a season-high 39.325 all-around total. She also won a vault title at Texas Woman's University. In all but two meets, she has been an all-around gymnast for ASU.

Throughout her career, she was on the dean's list four times as well as being named a WCGA Scholastic All-American to start the 2018-19 year.

Established in 1991, the NCAA Woman of the Year award recognizes graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service and leadership throughout their collegiate careers.

The Top 30 honorees will be celebrated and the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year will be named at the annual award ceremony Oct. 20 in Indianapolis.
