TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State volleyball has added outside hitter Jada Burse to the 2019 roster, an all-conference senior transfer from the University of Kansas.
"Jada adds experience and depth to our roster," Arizona State head coach Sanja Tomasevic said. "She is someone I'm super excited to work with and to help her take her skills to the next level to prepare her to play volleyball professionally after college."
Burse has received multiple honors throughout her collegiate career. She was an All-Big 12 First Team honoree in 2018 and was on the second team in 2017. As a freshman, she was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.
The 6-1 senior is coming off of her best year so far. Burse played in every match, starting 20 of them, and led the team in kills with 374. She also led in kills per set (3.46), attack attempts (975), points (408.5) and points per set (3.46). In 20 matches she had double-digit kills, and in 22 matches she had double-digit points. She earned a career-high 23 kills against TCU in 2018. In blocks, her career high is 6.0, which she earned against Missouri State in 2017. Before college, Burse was an AAU High School All-American.
Burse is from DeSoto, Texas. Her parents are Christopher Burse and Jacque London. She is also the stepdaughter to Kennith London. Her father, Christopher, played football at Alcorn State.
