SAN FRANCISCO – Seniors Oluoma Okaro and Ashley Wenz received All-Pac-12 honors as announced by the conference on Thursday, representing Arizona State beach volleyball.
This is the first time a Sand Devil has received an All-Pac-12 award since 2017 when Okaro was on the second team and Bianca Arellano and Whitney Follette were on the first team. Okaro is on the All-Pac-12 First Team this season for her second conference honor in her career. Wenz is on the All-Pac-12 Second Team.
Okaro and Wenz have been paired together for the majority of the 2019 season. Once paired together, they started off with a perfect 12-0 record, earning them the program's first Pac-12 Pair of the Week nod. They earned wins over the top pair against five top-20 teams throughout the year, including victories that helped ASU complete the upset over No. 10 Cal and No. 20 Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship.
In their short time paired together, the two have made their marks on the record book. Their 21-4 record together is good for fifth place all-time as a pair. For wins in a single season, they are tied for third as a pair and are tied for fifth individually with 22 each. Okaro will finish her career in eighth place in individual wins with 42.
