COLUMBIA, S.C. – The dual match came down to the wire, but Arizona State beach volleyball fell just short of taking down No. 11 South Carolina, losing 3-2 on the Gamecocks' home court on Sunday morning.

The Sun Devils (13-10, 1-4 Pac-12) kept the dual close. South Carolina (13-6) won in two with their No. 2 pair to get the first point, but Kate Baldwin and Samantha Plaster followed that up by taking their match in two on the fourth court, tying the dual at 1-1.

After another point for the Gamecocks on court one, the remaining matches on courts three and five went to three sets to determine the winner. Emily Anderson and Lauren Weintraub closed out their three-set victory, but the threes fell short, giving South Carolina the win.
