STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Behind three individual event titles, No. 21 Arizona State gymnastics scored its best road total with a 196.150, taking second place in the quad meet at Penn State on Saturday night.
"I am definitely happy with what the team did today," Arizona State head coach Jay Santos said. "It was great to follow up last week's meet with another strong performance on all four events. The team did a good job of battling all meet, staying focused and hitting routines. It's really encouraging to see this type of performance coming together at this time of year."
The 196.150 team score is the third-best total for the Gym Devils this season, the best on the road. It is also the first 196.000-plus on the road this year. Arizona State improves to 8-8 on the year after surpassing Cornell and Yale in the quad meet tonight. For Penn State, who won the meet on their senior night, it was the best score the team had all season.
