EUGENE, Ore – The Sun Devil Lacrosse team got a taste of its first road action in 2019, dominating the Oregon Ducks in an 18-10 victory at Pape Field on Friday evening.
The first road game can be a struggle for a team that relies on underclassmen, but the Sun Devils showed early that jitters would not be a problem. A focused group put the pressure on the Ducks from the first draw, earning a dominant victory in Eugene.
"Incredibly proud of our effort the girls gave today," Coach Martinez Connor remarked. "Most importantly, they came out with a lot of intensity and carried that out through the entire first half."
The attack was clicking on all cylinders, with everyone getting involved. Seven different Sun Devils scored goals, five of those registering multi-goal games. Berkeley Bonneau was tremendous once again, finishing with 12 saves on her way to recording her fourth double digit save outing of the season.
Kylie Kroeger came to play from the start, setting the tone with a pair of goals in the first three minutes to put Arizona State up early. She received plenty of support from Emily Glagolev, who matched Kroeger's two goals with two of her own, the second of which represented the third goal in a one-minute span as the Ducks looked overwhelmed by the Sun Devil attack. Capping a 6-0 run, Kerri Clayton reached double digits with her 10th goal of the season shortly before Paige McGlothlin converted on a beautiful feed from Julia Burns.
"I was impressed with our offenses' ability to execute as well the defense setting the tone and sticking with the game plan," Coach Martinez Connor stated. "We continue to get closer to achieving our goal of playing for a full 60."
Oregon showed signs of life midway through the second half, but it was too late as the Sun Devils smartly used the running clock to their advantage. Another 3-0 run by the Ducks required a response as the lead was trimmed to 16-7. No panic was shown as stars of the night Emily Glagolev and Kerri Clayton did what they had done all night, providing a strong response after the deficit became single digits. Each attacker registered a goal, the fifth and fourth of the night respectively for the dynamic duo. Clayton goal was assisted by Julia Burns, breaking the school record with her sixth assist of the night. Goalkeeper Berkeley Bonneau put the finishing touches on a Sun Devil victory, coming through with several key saves late in the game as the Ducks made a charge, allowing Arizona State to take home the 18-10 victory.
Arizona State looks to continue their winning ways with a quick turnaround, as they travel to Boulder to take on their second ranked opponent of 2019 in No. 23 Colorado, on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. The game is exclusively on Pac-12 Mountain Network (available in Utah & Colorado), but can be streamed live through the Pac-12 Digital platforms and the Pac-12 Now App. For more information on how to access the broadcast, click here.

The Sun Devils were unfazed by Oregon finally getting on the board, answering quickly with a 3-0 run. Julia Burns, who spent the night getting everyone else involved, got on the board herself to start the run. Two more Kerri Clayton goals completed the first-half hat trick, giving Arizona State a 9-1 lead. Clayton would assist on the next two goals, coming off the stick of Paige McGlothlin and Emily Glagolev, giving the latter the team's second individual hat trick. ASU finished the first half strong, extending their lead to 10 goals to earn a running clock, the first time the program has accomplished the feat against a Pac-12 opponent. The Maroon and Gold would enter the half with a 14-4 lead.We are having fun now!
