TEMPE, Ariz. – Riding a five-match winning streak, Arizona State volleyball is heading down to Tucson for the Bear Down Beach Tournament to play four different teams this weekend: North Florida, No. 15 Arizona, New Mexico and Louisiana-Monroe.
Ever since switching up four of the five pairs on March 9, the Sun Devils (7-3) have won their last five matches, four of which were 5-0 sweeps. They are off to the best start in program history. ASU will look for its second win over a ranked opponent. On the first day of the season, the team took down No. 16 Grand Canyon.
The current roster is taking hold of the record book. Katelyn Carballo and Ellyson Lundberg have a 33-14 record in their careers, which puts them in second all-time. They need nine more wins to take the top spot. Right behind them are two other Sand Devil pairs: Kate Baldwin and Samantha Plaster in third and Katie Cross and Cierra Flood in fourth.
