PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The No. 8 Sun Devils moved up the leaderboard with a 17-shot improvement on day two of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge.

Junior Olivia Mehaffey led the way with a 1-over 72 on the day with three birdies including two straight to start the back half. Mehaffey moved up 27 spots on the individual leaderboard between day one and day two.

"We improved by 17 shots today, which was good," said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. "Olivia had a solid round of golf, which was great. We still have work to do tomorrow to move up the leaderboard, but I believe in this team and I know they will compete hard the last day."

Senior Sofia Anokhina and freshman Alessandra Fanali also improved by 13 and 11 places, respectively.

Tuesday's final round will start with a shotgun start at 9:30 am MT/8:30 am PT as the Sun Devils are paired with Baylor, No. 5 Alabama, and Colorado, teeing off on holes 14-17.
