PHOENIX – A monster day at the plate from Trevor Hauver and a dominating effort from R.J. Dabovich on the mound led Sun Devil Baseball to a convincing 17-2 victory and series sweep over UC Davis on Sunday afternoon at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

Hauver had as good of a day as you can have as a leadoff batter, finishing 3-for-4 with a career high seven RBIs, his first career home run, four runs scored and incredible diving catch in left field.

His seven RBIs were the most for a Sun Devil since Andy Workman did so on May 8, 2011 against Long Beach State. Hauver is now batting .417 on the season with a team-leading .595 on-base percentage thanks to his 12 walks on the year as well. In three games against UC Davis, Hauver was 7-of-13 from the player with six runs scored, two doubles, a home run and eight RBIs.

Dabovich struggled some with his command last week against Notre Dame, but the cobwebs were clearly shook off come Sunday afternoon. The sophomore earned the victory as he went 7.0 innings pitched, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out three.

Dabovich threw 54 of his 78 pitches for strikes on the afternoon and was a ground ball machine, with 11 of his outs on the day coming by way of ground outs. The junior college transfer didn't allow a hit until the fifth inning – a solo shot on the first pitch of the inning that finally got the Aggies on the board.

Gage Workman had another solid day on offense for ASU, finishing 3-for-5 with two RBIs. He led all Sun Devil hitters with a .636 batting average on the weekend, going 7-for-11 overall with a team-best .692 on-base percentage.

Spencer Torkelson quietly went 2-for-3 with another RBI and two runs to bring his season average to .548 with 15 RBIs. Lyle Lin added two more RBIs to bring his weekend total to a team-best nine and to take the overall team lead on the season with 16.

The Sun Devils got on the board early in the series finale with a Lin RBI single opening the scoring behind a pair of RBIs from Carter Aldrete and Workman for a 3-0 lead after the first inning.

ASU blew the game open with an 8-run third inning highlighted by a base-clearing RBI double from Hauver with the bases loaded. ASU batters had a hit or walked on sever consecutive plate appearances in the frame to go up 13-0 after three innings.

Hauver's three run blast in the fourth extended the lead to 16-0 before UC Davis final got on the board with a solo home run in the fifth.

Hauver capped his day and the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning with the Aggies getting one more unearned run in the eighth to round out the scoring.

The Sun Devils will have a day off Monday before hosting Pepperdine at Phoenix Municipal Stadium for a midweek tilt on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
