ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Amidst the below freezing temperatures lingering outside, the heat was cranked inside Gene Polisseni Center as the No. 16/15 Sun Devils scored early and often in a 6-1 rout of RIT (12-10-3).

Senior linemates Dylan Hollman and Anthony Croston, as well as junior defenseman Brinson Pasichnuk, led the charge for ASU (18-10-1) with three points each. Hollman and Pasichnuk each netted two goals with an assist in the contest.

"We go as they go – they know that, everybody knows that," said head coach Greg Powers of their line. "They've had a tremendous year and they have five games left. They know and everyone knows we're trying to extend their careers at ASU and tonight was a good start."

Hollman's three-point night was his second of the season as well as his third game recording a shorthanded tally. He now has 17 points on the year, which ties his NCAA best in a season. Brinson's three-point night was his third of the year, but first with two goals all year.

Croston's three-assist night pushed him to 22 points on the season, breaking his previous collegiate best for points in a season of 21 set during his sophomore campaign. Croston also extended his point streak to three-straight games with a goal and four assists.

Overall, five different players earned multi-point games including Brett Gruber and Johnny Walker.

Flying under the radar was Hobey Baker nominee Joey Daccord. Up until the lone goal allowed late in the second period, Daccord had a 123-minute streak of shutout hockey going between the pipes. The junior goaltender finished with 33 saves on the night for his 13th 30-plus save game of the season.

Walker's two assists make for his 30th and 31st point of the season, becoming the first Sun Devil to eclipse 30 points in a season. He is now tied for seventh in the country in points, and remains the leader in goals by three.

Both teams finished scoreless on the power play on the night, with the Tigers going 0-for-3 and the Devils going 0-for-2.

"The result is great and that's a good team – it probably wasn't a 6-1 game," said head coach Greg Powers. "They had some push back too and we need to clean some things up in the d-zone and manage the puck better. When you beat a good team 6-1 on the road, and you don't feel like you played your best, that's a good sign. So we're going to have to be better tomorrow and I think we will."

Game two is scheduled for Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. (EST).
