TEMPE, Ariz. -- Sun Devil Hockey freshman forward Demetrios Koumontzis earned the NCAA's Second Star of the Week for his six-point weekend in ASU's final home series of the season against American International.
Koumontzis is riding a three-game goal streak with three goals and five assists in that stretch for a 2.67 point per game average. He's up to 20 points in his freshman season, which is four shy of the ASU record for points in a season by a freshman set by Johnny Walker (24) last season.
The 2018 Calgary Flames' draftee netted two goals and assisted on another four on the weekend, which featured a one-goal, three-assist night on Saturday.NCAA Hockey Stars of the Week
