NORMAN, Okla. – The Arnold Palmer Cup has announced the first rankings of spring 2019 and Arizona State junior Olivia Mehaffey has been named to the list (14th on international women's list). Mehaffey was also added to the watch list for the international team in the fall.

The top six golfers from the final spring ranking from both the U.S. and international men and women – 12 total golfers – will be selected to compete in the Arnold Palmer Cup.

The remaining six men's and women's spots for the U.S. will be selected by a committee and coaches. The rest of the international team will be selected from winners of The R&A Scholars Tournament as well as committee and coaches selections.

Last year, Mehaffey was part of the first year in which women were included in the Ryder Cup-style competition, joining fellow Sun Devils on the men's side including, most recently, Jon Rahm in 2014.

Mehaffey was awarded the Michael Carter "Junior" Memorial Award given to the Palmer Cup participants – one male, one female – who best represent the qualities and ideals of sportsmanship, integrity, and upholding of the game. The award is named in remembrance of Michael Carter, a member of the Penn State men's golf team who died in a car accident in 2002.

The next Arnold Palmer Cup ranking will be announced February 28.
