The Arizona State men's basketball team fell at Colorado 77-73 late Wednesday. The Sun Devils (16-8; 7-5 Pac-12) defeated the Buffaloes (15-9; 6-6 Pac-12) in Tempe on Jan. 5, splitting the season series.

McKinley Wright and Tyler Bey dominated in the second half, executing on offense each time the Sun Devils attempted to take control of the game. Kimani Lawrence hit momentum changing shots for ASU, scoring on back-to-back triples that answered two three-point baskets from CU.

Lawrence scored all nine of his points from beyond the arc on three-of-three shooting. Wright scored 16 of his season-high 24 in the second half, and Bey scored 22 with a career-high 17 rebounds.

In the end, Colorado's efficiency with Wright running the offense was overwhelming for the Sun Devils with baskets not falling their way. Missed opportunities at the rim in crunch time represented ASU's 38.2 percent second-half shooting performance.

The contest was knotted at 32 heading into the break with the middle portion highlighted by a shooting battle from both sides. The Sun Devils' Taeshon Cherry scored six connective points off the bench in his return from injury in the first half.

Romello White dominated the painted area early, scoring on eight points inside the paint. ASU had three in double figures featuring Luguentz Dort's 21, Zylan Cheatham's 12 and White's 10.

Dort now has six 20 point performances this year.

Remy Martin entered the game averaging the second-most assists in conference play and the best assist to turnover ratio. He dished six such passes with nine points and four rebounds.

Colorado regained one of the seven lead changes with 10:13 remaining and never gave it back en route to their fourth consecutive victory. The Sun Devils failed to go down easy in Boulder, beginning their full-court press with two minutes left.

It seemed that Colorado answered each bucket from ASU and the game clock was quickly against Arizona State. Two three-point baskets by Cheatham and Dort ended the game on a 6-0 ASU run.

The Sun Devils play next at Utah on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 8:15 p.m. MST on FS1.
