NEW ORLEANS – The 2018 Arizona State Sun Devil men's and women's cross country teams were both included on the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association all-academic list, the organization announced Thursday.
To receive this honor, a team must average a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better. The men's team, led by first-year head coach Cory Leslie, averaged a 3.11 GPA and coach Jeremy Rasmussen's women earned the honor with a 3.08.
Both teams have had a lasting streak of receiving this honor. The 2018 honor is the ninth-straight for the Sun Devil men and the 15th-straight for the women's program.
The Sun Devil women scored the Territorial Cup Series point this past season when they placed ninth at the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships. The men's team also finished ninth and went on to finish 14th at the NCAA West Regional Championships – their best finish since 2016.
