TEMPE – Arizona State sophomore Tommi Hintnaus cleared 4.02m/13-2.25 feet Friday at the Mt. T's Invitational to jump into the top-10 in school history in the indoor women's pole vault.

Hintnaus had already topped her personal best and was one of two collegiate women left in the event by the time the bar was set at 3.92m/12-10.25 feet. She would go on to clear that mark on her second attempt then jump 13 feet on her third attempt to eventually finish fourth overall.

Her mark put her into a tie for fifth in school history and it is the fifth-best mark in the MPSF this season. The Hawaii native is the first Sun Devil since 2017 to clear a bar of more than 4 meters.

Freshman Myka Steinbeisser finished seventh with a personal best clearance of 3.72m/12-2.50 feet and Julianna Park took ninth.

Also in Flagstaff, Samantha Noennig won her second straight shot put competition when she dropped a throw of 17.51m/57-5.50 feet. Had any other woman in the country put the shot at that distance, she would be third in the NCAA, but Noennig already owns the top collegiate mark of the season with her 17.81m/58-5.25-foot throw from earlier in the season.

Ian Schulz set a personal best of 17.19m/56-4.75 feet on his way to winning the men's shot put, and Erika Voyzey cleared 1.75m/5-8.75 feet to win the women's high jump.

Across the border in Albuquerque, a few Sun Devil sprinters opened their weekends by running the 200-meter dash at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Freshman Austin Kratz was the top Sun Devil finisher on the men's side with his 21.67 and seventh-place finish. For the women, another newcomer in Josephine Anokye recorded the fastest time by a Sun Devil this year with her 24.08.

Kratz, Anokye and the rest of the Devils will lace up tomorrow for the conclusion of the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, while All-Americans Kaylee Antill and Beatrice Llano headline the meet in Flagstaff.

Out in North Carolina, William Paulson will run in one of the fastest mile races of the season a week after setting the second-best time in the event in Sun Devil history.
