TEMP, Ariz. -- Arizona State softball has been selected to finish fourth in the Pac-12 in a preseason vote by the coaches, the conference announced on Tuesday.
The Bruins and Huskies, who open the season as second and third in the NFCA Top 25, respectively, were picked first and second by the league coaches, followed by Arizona who checked in third in the poll.
California and Oregon State tied for fifth, followed by Utah, Stanford and Oregon, who checked in at seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively.
Arizona State will start the 2019 regular season this Friday when the team hosts the 2019 Kajikawa Classic. The weekend slate will begin for ASU with a Friday double header, starting with a 4:30 p.m. matchup against Western Michigan, followed by a 7 p.m. tilt against Missouri. The Sun Devils will be back Saturday for games against Kansas (2:30 p.m.) and Weber State (7:30 p.m) before closing out the opening weekend of the season with a 2 p.m. game against CSUN on Sunday, Feb. 10.
