TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 5 Sun Devil Water Polo team is set to host the second-annual, three-day, 15-match Cross-Conference Challenge tournament Feb. 1-3.

The Sun Devils play host to four other teams ranked in the top-25 and another that is receiving votes in last week's poll – No. 12 Princeton, No. 25 Azusa Pacific, No. 10 UC Santa Barbara, Iona (RV), Cal State Monterey Bay, and No. 24 Cal Baptist and will play five games across the three-day tournament.

ASU will play one game Friday (11 am vs. Princeton), two games Saturday (11:30 am vs. Iona, 3:15 pm vs. Azusa Pacific), and two games Sunday (8 am vs. UCSB, 1:15 pm vs. Cal Baptist).

Arizona State has found recent success against several of the team's they'll face this weekend, earning wins vs. then-No. 25 Cal Baptist in last season's UCSB Winter Invite, a 12-3 victory, and opened last year's inaugural Cross-Conference Challenge with a win over then-No. 20 Princeton, 14-9. In 2017, the Sun Devils emerged victorious in their last meeting with UCSB, 8-4, to cap their first home tournament of the season.

Two Sun Devils are in the top-five in scoring in the premier women's collegiate water polo conference, a conference which includes every single NCAA champion dating back to the start of the sport at the collegiate level. Maud Koopman and Bente Rogge are tied for third in the conference with six goals apiece this season.

Newcomer Lieke Rogge has also had multi-goal games in both games thus far as a Sun Devil, scoring two at No. 7 Hawai'i on Saturday to match her sister's two. In goal, newcomer Bridget Johnston has played both full games thus far this season.
