BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In their second dual in as many days, the No. 10 Sun Devils took the lead with three bouts to go but ultimately fell, 23-13, at No. 21 Lehigh.
 
Brandon Courtney (125) got the Sun Devils a win right out of the gate, breaking up a 1-1 tie with a late takedown to earn a 3-2 decision. Lehigh would answer with two straight decisions to take a 6-3 lead before No. 24 Josh Maruca (149) cruised to a relatively easy 7-2 win with over two minutes riding time to tie the match score, 6-6.
 
Just before halftime, No. 13 Christian Pagdilao (157) looked to secure the victory on riding time but No. 18 Josh Humphreys scored six straight points near the buzzer to give Lehigh a lead heading into the halftime break.
 
No. 5 Josh Shields (165) capped an undefeated weekend, grinding out a 7-6 decision to re-tie the match, 9-9, and Arizona State gained the lead, 13-9, on a 12-4 major decision from No. 2 Zahid Valencia (174).
 
Lehigh would regain the lead in the final three bouts of the night to come away with the victory.
 
The Sun Devils finish their month-long road swing next weekend in a Pac-12 Conference match at Stanford on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 2 pm MT/1 pm PT before returning home to host Missouri on Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 pm MT on Pac-12 Network.
