Tempe, Ariz. -- Head coach Graham Winkworth, and the Arizona State soccer team, have announced the addition of defender, Taylor Culver to the 2019 roster.

"I am excited to add Taylor to our squad for 2019," Winkworth said of the Scottsdale native. "She is a tall, fast and powerful central defender who I feel has the potential to compete for a place in our back line immediately. She comes with a very talented soccer background. Her experiences playing for her club, along with her time at Santa Clara, I believe will have prepared her well for the challenges she faces in 2019 and 2020."

Culver, a Notre Dame Prep graduate, arrives in Tempe after spending the last two seasons at Santa Clara. During her time with the Broncos, Culver was part of a team that has competed in back-to-back NCAA Tournaments, as well as finished this past season ranked No. 12 in the United Soccer Coaches final poll.

"We lost three of our starting back four to graduation after the 2018 season, and so we knew we had some holes to fill," Winkworth added. "I believe that with the addition of Taylor, along with the players we already have, the recent signees and hopefully one more world class player in the near future; we will have a group of young ladies that can continue our growth and improve the number of clean sheets we earn next year."
