Tempe, Ariz.- The Sun Devil Softball team, fresh off its first trip to the NCAA Women's College World Series since 2013, will honor the accomplishments of the past season at its annual Golden Fork Awards Banquet on Sunday, Sept. 30,
ASU and head coach Trisha Ford secured 48 wins on the year that notched the program's 23rd- straight 30-win season, and 24th- straight winning season. Sixteen conference wins paced the Devils to a third place finish in the Pac-12 and a No. 8 seed in the 2018 NCAA Postseason.
The Golden Fork Awards award ceremony will highlight individual accolades that student-athletes earned through their hard work and dedication on the field and will once again include the Bill Kajikawa Award, Mary Littlewood Award, Newcomer of the Year and Team MVP.
Seven Arizona State Softball players garnered All-Pac-12 Honors last season led by Trisha Ford who won Pac-12 Coach of the year. Six more Sun Devils NFCA All-Region awards and G Juarez became the 25th First-Team honoree in ASU softball history after her NFCA All-American First Team nod.
G Juarez was a force all season, going 26-6 with a 1.56 ERA. Her 305 strikeouts in 2018 is the ninth-highest strikeout total in a single season in Sun Devil softball history.
The Devils belted 88 home runs with a .284 batting average last season, marking the 13th consecutive year with at least 60 home runs . They also got it done in the circle, recording a 1.56 ERA as a team and limited opponents to a .190 batting average. The 1.56 ERA is the ninth lowest season ERA by a Sun Devil squad in program history, and the lowest since posting a 1.48 ERA in 2008.
