Oklahoma City - The seventh-ranked Sun Devil softball coaching staff was one of eleven programs to be honored by the NFCA as a 2018 Division I Regional Coaching Staff of the Year, the organization announced Tuesday. 

Reigning Pac-12 Coach of the Year Trisha Ford, was joined by assistant coaches Katie Richardson and Carly Wynn, volunteer assistant Jeff Harger, and operations personnel Jenna Makis and Taylor Green in being named the West Regional Coaching Staff of the Year. 

After being picked to finish sixth in the Pac-12 preseason poll, Arizona State rattled off a 48-win season that included a 16-8 record in Pac-12 play earning the team a third place finish in the conference, and the team's first trip to the Women's College World Series since 2013.

The Sun Devils swept through NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals as the No. 8 overall seed in NCAA postseason play.  In total, seven Sun Devils garnered All-Pac-12 honors and six earned NFCA All-Region plaudits.

The Arizona State staff received the recognition alongside Oklahoma, St. Francis University, Michigan, Ohio, Liberty, Drake, Hofstra, Oregon, Arkansas and South Carolina. The 11 programs, along with national champion Florida State, are eligible for the NFCA's Division I Coaching Staff of the Year award set to be announced on June 27.
