TEMPE, Ariz. – Senior captain Jemma Purfield and freshman forward Nicole Douglas have both earned a place on the Pacific All-Region Third Team, announced by the United Soccer Coaches Association Monday afternoon.
Douglas an English national, led the team in scoring during the 2018 season, netting nine goals and carding four assists to end her freshman campaign with 22 points on the season, finishing just three points shy of cracking into the top-10 in Sun Devil Soccer history.
Douglas paced the Sun Devils through the year on offense, scoring at a rate of just under one per game. Her nine goals tied for seventh in the Pac-12.
Purfield, a senior defender, led the Sun Devils with six assists on the season, while also netting a pair of goals. A prolific defender, Purfield helped anchor a Sun Devil back-line that held opponents to just 22 goals on the season, including five shutouts.
