MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – Track and Field News has recognized Arizona State's 2018 recruiting class as one of the best in the nation as both the Sun Devil men's and women's newcomers put ASU as the No. 7 class in the NCAA.
ASU finds itself in an elite field with its stout 2018 signing class as one of just three programs with both men's and women's programs ranked in the top-seven along with SEC powerhouse Georgia and fellow Pac-12 program Southern California.
T&F News lists Pennsylvania state record holder Austin Kratz as one to watch for the Sun Devils in 2019. Kratz was listed as the No. 3 100-meter athlete and No. 2 200-meter athlete coming out of Dock Mennonite Academy.
The Sun Devils also welcomed homegrown prospect Carlan Naisant who was the fifth-highest rated javelin thrower coming out of high school, and Turner Washington who picked up all-conference honors when he finished fourth at the Pac-12 Championships in the discus throw last year.
On the women's side, the featured athlete, according to Track and Field News, is triple threat Shelby Moran.
Although the Sun Devils have historic shoes to fill this season, throws coach Brian Blutreich still has two All-Americans to go along with the freshman Moran in Kaylee Antill and Samantha Noennig.
The complete 2018 signing class can be seen below.
The No. 7 class and the rest of the Sun Devils will get the 2019 indoor season started on Jan. 11 as they head to the NAU Friday Night Duals.
