TEMPE, Ariz. – After a pair of top-two finishes at Vanderbilt and Northwestern's home tournaments this fall season, No. 10 Sun Devil women's golf travels west and will close the 2018 fall season at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview Nov. 5-7.
The annual fall season-ending tournament features the Pac-12's 11 women's golf teams as well as Hawai'i. The Sun Devils are one of three Pac-12 schools ranked in the top-10 by Golfstat in No. 1 USC and No. 6 UCLA. No. 11 Washington, No. 13 Stanford, and No. 14 Arizona round out the top-25.
As the Pac-12 is arguably the best women's golf conference in the nation, the three-day tournament will be a good test and benchmark for ASU on a national scale. The past four NCAA champions have come from the "Conference of Champions" in Stanford (2015), Washington (2016), Arizona State (2017), and Arizona (2018).
Monday will feature a 7:30 am Hawaii time/11:30 am Arizona time shotgun start, with the Sun Devils teeing off on holes 11-15 with Washington, Oregon, and Cal. Of note, 2017 individual national champion Monica Vaughn is now an assistant coach for the Ducks.
The tournament takes place at Kailua-Kona's Nanea Golf Club, ranked best golf course in the state of Hawai'i as well as in the top-70 best courses in North America. Carved from a Big Island mountainside, each hole has a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.
Sun Devil men's and women's golf welcomed supporters, family, and friends to Papago Golf Course on Thursday night as they opened their new home facility at the storied venue.
