TEMPE, Ariz. – For the first time in program history, Sun Devil Hockey cracked the top-20 in this week's USCHO Coaches' Poll at No. 18 after the best start in program history.

After being the first team out of the top-20 last week with 85 points, head coach Greg Powers and the Sun Devils (9-3-0) swept Michigan State, who was also receiving votes last week, and have won five of their last six games. This all coming a week after the biggest victory in program history, upsetting then-No. 6 Penn State in overtime, 4-3, in State College on Nov. 3. 
 
"Getting ranked is certainly a nice milestone for our players and we're all very proud of what they have done so far this season," said Powers. "By no means is this our end all be all; we have big things yet to accomplish as a program and we'll continue to build this the right way, brick by brick."
 
ASU's nine victories is tied for the most in college hockey through week six of the season, and currently rank tied for 5th in the PairWise rankings with last year's NCAA Champions, Minnesota Duluth. The Sun Devils are also 5th in the RPI. The PairWise rankings 
 
This weekend, the team travels to Harvard who ranks No. 33 in the PairWise with a record of 1-2-2. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. (ET) / 5 p.m. (MST).
 
In last week's poll, the Sun Devils earned 85 votes after earning their first-ever vote in week three.
