TEMPE, Ariz. – After their first top-10 finish in seven years at last season's NCAA Championships, Sun Devil Wrestling announces their 2018-19 competition schedule, facing three of the top five and four of their fellow top-10 finishers from a season ago.
Arizona State will welcome two of the top four teams from last year's NCAA's in Ohio State and Michigan as well as Missouri, who finished in the top-10, and will face the reigning national champions – Penn State – in State College. (Next season, the Nittany Lions will make a trip to Tempe).
After the annual Maroon & Gold match on Saturday, Nov. 3, ASU opens the regular season at North Dakota State's Bison Open and with a dual at South Dakota State, who finished 12th at NCAA's in 2018.
ASU will then return home to host North Carolina and Ohio State on back-to-back days before the SIUE Cougar Clash on Dec. 2.
Mid-December will take the Sun Devils to State College, Pa. to face No. 1 Penn State before closing out 2018 at Midlands Championships.
The Sun Devils will host Michigan to open 2019 before hitting the road for a month, heading first to the Virginia Duals (Jan. 11-12) before four straight road duals with Pac-12 competitions at Oregon State (Jan. 20) and Stanford (Feb. 2) and two back in the state of Pennsylvania – at Lock Haven (Jan. 25) and Lehigh (Jan. 26).
