TEMPE, Ariz. – Following Sun Devil triathlon's victory at Saturday's East Regional Qualifier in Huddleston, Va., the Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA) has named the East All-Region Freshman and All-Region Teams, featuring several Sun Devils.
As the top freshman finisher, Audrey Ernst was named All-Region DI Freshman while Ernst, Kira Stanley, and Rebecca Naughton rounded out the DI All-Region Team as the top-three Division I finishers.
Ernst was the first Sun Devil to cross the finish line (3rd) while Stanley and Naughton finished 4th and 5th overall. Stanley had the only sub-nine-minute swim of the competition while Ernst had the fastest run amongst the field.
ASU prepares to host the USA Triathlon Women's Collegiate National Championship in less than two weeks (Sunday, Nov. 4), with the second annual Ignite the Fork age group triathlon preceding the collegiate race.
