TEMPE, Ariz. – Teaming up with the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, the 942 Crew will be joined by Brennan Korn during the Arizona State women's volleyball match against No. 22 Washington State on Friday at 8 p.m. MST.
The 942 Crew will adopt Brennan into their section in support of his sister Bridget's fight against cancer. Friends of Jaclyn is a foundation that pairs children with cancer with college teams. This induction into the student section is part of the Friends of Jaclyn Safe on the Sidelines for Siblings program. When a child is diagnosed, an entire family is effected, including the siblings who are sometimes unintentionally neglected. This program helps the sibling, in this case Brennan, become part of something special. He will be an honorary member of the 942 Crew this year in an effort to lighten his life and his family's life.
"We are so excited to work with the 942 Crew," Executive Director of Friends of Jaclyn Erin Perkins said. "They are a wonderful student section and we believe Brennan will have a great time with them as they support Sun Devil student-athletes!"
When Bridget and her mother return home following treatment, they will also be welcomed by the 942 Crew and the women's volleyball team. In the past, Arizona State football, women's basketball and baseball have adopted children to their teams through the Friends of Jaclyn.
"The 942 Crew is excited to adopt Brennan today as an honorary member while his sister, Bridget, is currently battling pediatric cancer," Community Service Chair of the 942 Crew Executive Board Claire Thompson said. "To give back to the community by partnering with Friends of Jaclyn and to be able to support Brennan by providing an opportunity to enjoy athletic events really embodies the spirit of the ASU charter. We are proud to call him a member of the Sun Devil family."
