@SunDevilHoops continues to make a splash this season with some national awards.

Kodi Justice was named a candidate for the 2017-18 Senior CLASS Award. Justice was selected as one of sixty NCAA men's and women's basketball student-athletes who excel both on and off the court. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Community
Justice has been involved in various philanthropic events in his time at ASU, along with serving as a youth basketball referee for the City of Tempe. He also has been a great ambassador for the program through the local media.

Classroom
Kodi Justice has a strong work ethic and the diagnosis of dyslexia at a young age never stopped him from performing in the classroom. Justice was not the type of student who wanted extra time on tests or sympathy because of his diagnosis, he just worked harder before the exams to be successful. While Justice faced adversity his freshmen year, he still finished his undergraduate education in only three years, earning a B.S. in Sociology.

In the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 semesters, Justice became a Sun Devil Scholar Athlete for the first time in his educational career by earning a GPA of a 3.0 or above. In order to graduate before the start of Fall 2017, Justice successfully completed 15 credits during Summer 2017 semester.

Justice was determined to earn a master's degree before his collegiate athletic career was over and did exactly that. This year Justice is beginning his master's degree in liberal studies and is projected to graduate in Spring 2018.

Character
In his Freshman year, Justice endured a season-ending injury halfway through a promising season, along with a coaching change after the end of his first season as a Sun Devil. Although, he did not waver and chose to play with the Sun Devils because he always wanted to play in front of his hometown crowd.

Competition
Last year, Justice never wavered when asked to guard 6-10 forwards on a regular basis due to some departures in the program. In the final five games of the 2016-17 season, Justice averaged 15.6 points, which included a career-high 22 points in the Feb. 26 win over NCAA Tournament-bound, USC. He was in double digits in 11 games last season, was 17-of-35 (.486) from the three-point stripe, and perfect in nine free throw attempts in those final five games. Currently, Justice had started every game of the season and was averaging 13 points per game for the No. 4 team in the country.
