LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Sun Devil volleyball team brought the brooms out Saturday morning at the UNIWYO Sports Complex, taking all three sets from the Binghamton Bearcats (25-20, 25-18, 25-17) in the last match of the 2018 UNIWYO Invite.
The Sun Devils (7-2) limited the Bearcats to a miniscule .080 attack percentage in the matchup, allowing just 31 kills while Binghamton committed 23 attack errors. ASU outplayed the Bearcats in virtually every stat, including kills (39 - 31), service aces (5 - 2), blocks (11.0 - 5.0) and digs (39 - 33).
Junior Ivana Jeremic earned All-Tournament honors with 36 kills and 16 digs on the weekend. Her 26 kills last night against Wyoming were a career-best for the Serbian. This honor marks her third straight honor of the season, also making the All-Tournament teams for the Sun Devil Classic and the Puerto Rico Clásico.
Junior Courtney Leffel also merited her third-straight All-Tournament honors this season with 13 digs and one service ace against the Bearcats.
Senior Nicole Peterson set a career-high in kills in the matchup with 10, breaking her previous high of eight she set against Missouri in Puerto Rico. With Shelbie Dobmeier back in the lineup at setter, Peterson is set to play her regular position of outside hitter from here on out for the Sun Devils.
For the Bearcats, Gaby Alicea led with 14 kills while Lexi LaGoy and Erin Shultz each added five apiece.
