TEMPE, Ariz. – As determined by the College Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA) following each regional qualifier, three Sun Devils have been named to the three-member Division I All-West Region Team following Sunday's race in Longmont – Hannah Henry, Charlotte Ahrens, and Katie Gorczyca.
Starting in 2017, after each regional championship, the top freshman varsity finisher, per division, and an All-Region team comprised of the top three finishers are named.
Last season, Hannah Henry and Katie Gorczyca won Central Regional honors while Charlotte Ahrens wins her second consecutive West Regional honor. Henry and Ahrens were also named CTCA DI All-Americans while Henry was named DI Freshman of the Year.
In their first opportunity to qualify for November's national championship, Sun Devil triathlon qualified with ease as six Sun Devils placed in the top seven finishers and all seven finished in the top-15.
Their final opportunity to prep for nationals will be Saturday, Oct. 20 at the East Regional Qualifier in Huddleston, Va. before ASU hosts the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championship for the second straight year on Sunday, Nov. 4.
