GOLD COAST, Australia – This weekend, as Sun Devil triathlon prepares for their first race of the season, two members of the team – Hannah Henry (Canada) and Audrey Ernst (United States) – will represent their respective countries at the ITU World Triathlon Grand Finals in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

The Junior Elite women's race will start at 11:30 am local time on Saturday, Sept. 15, 17 hours ahead of Tempe, Ariz. time (6:30 pm AZ time Friday night, Sept. 14).

The weekend of races serves as the culmination of the ITU World Triathlon Series for 2018. The course will be sprint distance, similar to the courses during the women's collegiate triathlon season (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run).

Henry, the individual collegiate national champion in 2017, is ranked No. 4 in the race. She was named USA Triathlon Division I Freshman of the Year, a USAT Division I All-American, and a College Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA) Academic All-American.

This summer, Henry won bronze in the Junior Elite race at the 2018 Brasilia CAMTRI Triathlon American Championships in June and finished fifth in the Women's Elite race at the 2018 Magog CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon American Cup in August.

Ernst finished first among all women in the 9/11 Heroes Run in Tempe earlier this month, her first competition as a Sun Devil. In June, she finished fourth, just behind Henry, in the Junior Elite race at 2018 Brasilia CAMTRI Triathlon American Championships.
