SAN FRANCISCO – Two former Sun Devil track and field all-conference student-athletes in Mason Ford and Kristiana Warth have been named as recipients of the Pac-12 Postgraduate Scholarships for Arizona State University, the conference announced Friday.

Ford and Warth both completed their Sun Devil careers this past spring, and were two of the most involved student-athletes on campus as they were co-presidents of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Ford is a former walk-on jumper for the Sun Devils, who earned his first all-Pac-12 honor when he placed seventh on the long jump this past outdoor season. He then advanced to his first NCAA West Prelim in the high jump where he took 37th overall.

A Sun Devil team captain, Ford was a valuable member to the community as he volunteered with STEPUP Schools Mesa, United Food Bank, Phoenix Children's Hospital, Sun Devil Caravan and the Salvation Army among others.

Ford was the 2018 men's recipient of ASU's Kajikawa Award as he received his degree in Sports and Media Studies and he will be pursuing a graduate degree in Sports Law and Business beginning in the Fall.

Warth was also a team captain and a Pac-12 scorer for the Devils. In the pole vault, Warth set the seventh-best mark indoors in school history and the fifth-best mark outdoors.

Her community involvement goes far beyond SAAC as she volunteered with the Susan G. Koman Foundation, the Special Olympics, Relay for Life, Down Syndrome Walk, the Pat Tillman Foundation, Phoenix Children's Hospital and United Food Bank among others.

Warth was a USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree and graduated from ASU with 3.93 GPA and a degree in Kinesiology. She'll continue her education at Duke University in the Fall where she is enrolled in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.

In 1999, the Pac-12 Conference created a Postgraduate Scholarship Program to honor and provide assistance for graduate study to outstanding student-athletes from its member
institutions who also are outstanding scholars. The program experienced a major revision in 2015.

Each year, the Conference will award 24 scholarships of $9000 each to student-athletes who have excelled academically and athletically, have completed their intercollegiate athletics eligibility, and have been accepted into a program of postgraduate study. Each Pac-12 institution selects two current or former student-athletes, one man and one woman, through its institutional selection process. Although each institution can determine its own method of selection, the mission of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Program (whose focus is on "rewarding those individuals whose dedication and effort are reflective of those characteristics necessary to succeed and thrive through postgraduate study in an accredited graduate program") should guide the selections.
