Brasilia, Brazil – On Sunday, four current and upcoming members of the two-time national champion Sun Devil triathlon team competed in Brasilia, Brazil at the 2018 Brasilia CAMTRI Triathlon American Championships, earning impressive finishes in two different races amongst strong international competition.
2017 individual national champion Hannah Henry (Canada) and incoming freshman Audrey Ernst (USA) finished third (bronze medal) and fourth, respectively, in the Junior Elite Race while fellow incoming freshman Kira Stanley (USA) also finished in the top-10 (8th).
Henry and Stanley had the third and fifth fastest swims, respectively, while Ernst, Stanley, and Henry had the second, fourth, and sixth-fastest bike. On the run, Henry was the fourth-fastest among finishers.
In the U23 women's race, senior Katie Gorczyca (USA) finished fifth overall with the fifth-fastest run and a top-10 swim and bike among finishers.
Back at home, the Sun Devil triathlon team recently released their 2018 competition schedule here: https://thesundevils.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=1468 while several members of the team are expected to compete at the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in Gold Coast, Australia Sept. 12-16.
