TEMPE, Ariz. – Following yet another successful season under head coach Bob Bowman, fans will have four opportunities to catch the Sun Devil Swimming and Diving squad in action at home in the 2018-19 season, starting with their annual Intrasquad meet on Sep. 28.

"I think it's important for us to swim against some of the top teams in the country," head swimming coach Bob Bowman said. "It's good for us to stand up against the teams we're going to face at NCAA's in a different, regular season setting."

Bowman crafted yet another difficult schedule in his fourth season at the helm, facing off against six opponents ranked in the top-5 and 12 in the top-10 between the men and the women. These powerhouse matchups include conference foe No. 1 Stanford – whose women captured their second straight national championship in Columbus last year – and No. 6 Texas, whose men grabbed their fourth-straight NCAA team title in Minneapolis.

All but two of the Sun Devils 2018-19 opponents have a men's or women's team ranked in the top-25 of the TYR/CSCAA Poll, the same poll in which the ASU men finished No. 8 while the women finished No. 22 to end last season.

"This is going to be a very tough, challenging schedule," head diving coach Mark Bradshaw said. "It helps us to see where we stack up against the best teams at that particular point in the season and shows us what we need to work on to compete in the postseason."

After starting the year with matchups against Oregon State, Florida State, USC and UCLA, the swimming and diving squads part ways, with swimming heading to Indiana for the 2018 Indiana Invitational and diving heading to Austin to take on a strong Texas program in the Texas Diving Invitational to wrap up winter competition.

"The Indiana Invitational is a new event that Indiana's coach and I made up," Bowman said. "It'll include great competition, and I think it's important for us to swim against teams outside of our conference to see new faces."

The Sun Devils open 2019 facing three-straight conference opponents all at home in Tempe. The Washington State women's swimming team rolls into town first, and ASU wraps up their homestand hosting both of the Bay Area schools in Cal and Stanford.

ASU treks to Austin to face the defending national champions in the University of Texas, also the site of the NCAA National Championships this upcoming season. The Sun Devils finish up their campaign down south, travelling to Tucson to face Arizona before heading off to the Pac-12 Championships in late February.
