STILLWATER, Okla. – Announced by the NCAA this morning at the pre-championship breakfast, Arizona State's Roberta Liti is the recipient of the organization's Elite 90 award for women's golf for the 2017-18 season.

The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA in the 2009-10 season, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.

The Elite 90 award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.

Liti, who was named Pac-12 Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, is the second Pac-12 women's golfer to win the award after Arizona's Wanasa Zhou earned the honor in 2014-15.

Arizona State ranks second in the Pac-12 in Elite 90 winners, now with four. Stanford leads the conference with 16 followed by ASU's four. USC has three, Oregon has two, while Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Oregon State, Washington State, Cal, and UCLA have one apiece.

Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above who have participated in their sport for at least two years with their school. They must be an active, traveling member of the team and a designated member of the squad at the championship.

For more information on the award, visit www.NCAA.com/elite-90.

The 2018 NCAA Women's Golf Championship gets underway in Stillwater on Friday, with stroke play the first four days of the tournament and match play the final two. Live scoring can be found on Golfstat.com.
