SAN DIEGO – Arizona State homered three times and the Sun Devil Baseball team showed off its offensive firepower in a 12-7 midweek victory on the road at San Diego on Wednesday evening.

The Sun Devils finished with 13 hits while playing errorless ball in the field and got critical outs when it needed them down the stretch to withstand a late Torero rally. ASU finished with five doubles – matching a team season-high - and three home runs in the contest, eight extra base hits on the 13 total hits. ASU scored runs in 8 of the 9 innings of Wednesday's game.

Hunter Jump notched his second four-RBI game of the season, drawing a team season-best three walks in the effort. He and Gage Canning are the only two players this season to reach four RBIs in multiple games and Jump now has five multi-RBI games on the season, good for fourth on the Sun Devil roster. Since making his appearance in the starting lineup against Utah three weeks ago, Jump has a team-best 16 RBI in the last 10 games for the Sun Devils.

Zach Hogueisson made his first career start at designated hitter and put on a show, notching two doubles and his first career home run in the process. He finished 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI in the promising start.

Carter Aldrete went 3-for-6 with his second home run of the season while Alika Williams was 3-for-5 with two doubles.

Sam Romero earned the victory with six strikeouts to just one walk while Dellan Raish added four strikeouts of his own in the final 2.1 innings of action to keep ASU on top down the stretch.

The Sun Devils jumped all over the Toreros from the opening pitch, scoring runs in each of the first six innings and taking advantage of six walks issued by USD starting pitcher Nick Sprengel.

ASU pushed across a single run in both the first and second innings, but stranded several runners in the process and didn't fully take control of the game until Bishop's bomb in the third inning – a two run shot that gave ASU a 5-0 lead.

ASU added on in the fourth, scoring one on a wild pitch before Jump pushed across two more with a single to make it 7-0 ahead of Hogueisson's first career bomb in the fifth, a solo shot to make it 8-0.

Aldrete homered in the sixth after USD finally got on the board in the bottom of the fifth. The Toreros would mount a small comeback with four runs in the seventh but ASU responded with two unearned insurance runs in the eighth and a final run in the ninth to give it the breathing room to withstand USD's ninth-inning two run home run that got it back within 12-7.

Raish locked down following the homer, issuing a game-ending double play to complete the victory for ASU.

Th Sun Devils return home this weekend for a two-game set against Pacific, beginning on Sunday at Phoenix Municipal Stadium at 1 p.m. PT.
