EUGENE, Ore. – The Arizona State lacrosse team (6-9, 1-7 Pac-12) fell to the Oregon Ducks (7-5, 3-3 Pac-12) Friday evening at Papé Field, 21-8.
"It was definitely a tough game and there were some bright moments but we have to refocus for Sunday as we continue to play in one of the top conferences in the nation to close the season," said head coach Courtney Martinez Connor.
Freshmen Kate Dougherty and Daniela Wright led the Sun Devils in scoring with two each. After scoring her first career goal against Cal on Sunday, Wright's two goals Friday marks the first multi-goal game of her career.
Fellow freshmen Kylie Kroeger, Maria Villanti and Graci Fulkerson and sophomore Carley Adams scored the other four Arizona State goals. Emily Glagolev added two assists while Julia Burns had one.
Defensively, sophomore goalkeeper Berkeley Bonneau led the team with four ground balls. On the draw freshman defender Lia Willis recorded a career high three draw controls.
Up next, the Sun Devils get right back on the plane to Colorado to take on the No. 18 Colorado Buffaloes on Sunday, April 8 at 11 a.m. PT. The game will be broadcasted live on the Pac-12 Network with Christian Miles on the call.
